Selichot Service

28 Sep @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Please join us on Saturday evening, September 28, for our annual service of Selichot, the preparatory service for the High Holidays.  This year, we will begin at 7:00 with dessert and Havdalah.  Please bring a dessert to share.  We will then watch a powerful episode of the Neil Gaiman Netflix series, The Sandman.  You do not need to be familiar with the series to appreciate this incredible stand-alone episode; Cantor Levson will provide a brief synopsis of the characters and themes of the show.  (While we do have boxes of Kleenex at the Temple, you may want to bring some of your own; you will probably need them!)  After a brief discussion following the episode, we will move into the sanctuary for our beautiful Selichot service, accompanied by Sue Krechel.  This service will include the ceremonial changing of the Torah mantles into their white covers for the High Holidays.
