Presenter: Roberta S. Clark, JCRC Executive Director, Milwaukee Jewish Federation
Description: We have seen a tremendous rise in antisemitism since October 7. Join us as we examine antisemitism, discuss ways antisemitism can be manifested in our society, how it impacts our identity as members of the Jewish community (regardless of our respective Jewish journey), and appropriate ways to respond to antisemitic incidents.
Roberta S. Clark is the Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. She held the following roles in Southern NJ before moving to Milwaukee – the Development and Membership Director of Congregation Beth El in Voorhees, NJ, and as the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties in Margate, NJ.
Prior to moving to New Jersey, Ms. Clark was the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Oklahoma City for five years; preceding her years in Oklahoma City, she spent fourteen years working for the Anti-Defamation League.
Deeply committed to ensuring the safety and security of the Jewish people, and protecting the rights of all Americans, Ms. Clark brings significant leadership and experience in programming, leadership development, Jewish education, and fundraising to her position. In all the communities where she has worked, she has cultivated relationships with community leaders, educators, interfaith leaders, law enforcement professionals, political leaders and media representatives.
Throughout her career, she has developed and implemented interfaith security conferences; has trained thousands of law enforcement professionals on issues and incidents related to hate groups, extremism and terrorism; worked with dozens of educational institutions and school districts to successfully negotiate church/state issues and to provide trainings in the areas of bullying and cyber bullying; and provided guidance and assistance to community members who believe they have been the victims of discrimination and/or hate crimes.
Ms. Clark is a recipient of the 2013 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award and the 2015 “Chai Award” from the URJ Greene Family Camp. She graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in Political Science and holds dual M.A. degrees in Jewish Education and Jewish Studies from Gratz College in Melrose Park, PA.
