Ben Merens, Outreach Specialist with the state Bureau of Consumer Protection, will discuss keeping safe from Scams, Identity Theft, and Safe Online Shopping. 

Consumers lose more than $40 billion a year to telemarketing fraud.  One key defense to their work is simple consumer education. Using a mixture of stories and protection techniques, Consumer Protection Outreach Specialist Ben Merens will discuss the myriad of scams people face these days and how to avoid becoming a victim.
