Marie Loeffler Biography

Marie Loeffler is a published author whose poems have appeared in Blue Heron Review, the Lilliput Review, Third Wednesday, Verse Wisconsin, the 2017 Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets Calendar, The Journal of a Musician, and Echoes Anthology. She has professionally reviewed poetry for Prick of the Spindle, Flutter Press, Portage Magazine, and Verse Wisconsin, and she has written freelance interviews, classical music reviews, and articles for Isthmus The Daily Page (Madison, WI). She has been a speaker and reader at the Southeast WI Festival of Books and the AllWriters\’ Summer Free Night for All. She is a current member of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets, SCBWI, and AllWriters\’ Workplace and Workshop. She has an Honors BA in Humanities and Social Thought (Great Books curriculum) and is a few credits shy of a Graduate Violin Performance degree as a Chancellor\’s Fellow and music scholarship recipient at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. She has continued her music studies at Northwestern University. She runs her own business, Loeffler Private Tutoring, where she is a music, language, and b\’nei mitzvah instructor. She also enjoys singing in and leading services at her congregation. She has taught Spanish, German, Hebrew, writing, and music in many places, most recently at the Duke University ADVANCE Program for Young Scholars, Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha, Carroll University, and the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha.
