Simon Bronner,PhD., the Dean of the College of General Studies and Distinguished Professor ofSocial Sciences at UW-Milwaukee will be featured. His program is entitled, “The Riseof Adapted Home Traditions: SimcSimcha that Bat and Other Jewish Ceremonies forNewborn Girls”. This illustrated talk based on research for his new book, JewishCultural Studies (Wayne State University Press 2021) will examine theseceremonies and other adapted traditions as a process of Jewish folkorization.
